About us

Australian Construction Training and Mining (ACTM) Training and Consultancy is a family owned Registered Training Organisation (RTO) that has been operating initially in South East Queensland and now nationally since 1995. Ron and Sherylle Maling deliver training and assessment as well as consultancy services in a number of vocational areas.

A small business success story, Ron and Sherylle started their training and consultancy initiatives with Maclean Pines Driving School in 1984, which is still operating very successfully today, and soon saw training and consultancy opportunities in the transport industry which has expanded more recently into the building, construction and mining industries.

To ensure quality training delivery and assessment, ACTM engages over 52 contractors nationally who have a minimum of five years industry experience in their vocational area to deliver training and assessment to the public and private sectors at various training centres throughout Australia.

Training can also be delivered onsite (including remote locations) and using flexible delivery contextualised to meet business requirements. ACTM trainers and assessors travel to onsite remote training locations throughout Australia to ensure businesses receive quality training delivery and assessment. These have included:

  • Queensland Rural Fire Service for Truck Licencing
  • NRMA NSW and private individuals for Driving Instructor Training and TAE10 courses
  • Essential Energy NSW and State Water NSW for consultancy projects
  • SCT Logistics for Certificate III in Warehousing and Forklift Licences
  • Western Auger Drilling for MC Truck and Plant Licencing

Business Strategy

ACTM Training and Consultancy is committed to being an industry leader in all areas of business. It is expected that all ACTM training and consultancy services be conducted in an ethical manner, with integrity as ACTM business operations have a major focus on safety, transparency, continuous assessment of processes and procedures resulting in improvements. This is to ensure the delivery of a quality and reliable cost-effective service to ACTM’s clients, the industry and the community.

This is managed through an Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) approved Quality Management System incorporating Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Criteria, a Code of Practice, a Strategic and Business Plan recorded through an electronic management system (EMS).
